FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. What is the difference between Accreditation and Credit Recommendation and which one does Nouveau Riche University have?
Nouveau Riche has achieved college credit recommendation status not accreditation. In simple terms, understand that ACE college credit recommendations can be accepted toward a degree or certificate offered by more than 1,000 colleges and universities whereas accreditation usually applies to a specific educational institution or program. The term accreditation conveys a status granted by an accrediting organization to an educational institution or program. The term also ensures a student enrolled in a particular learning program that the program is legitimate and thus, the degree earned at the accredited institution is real and not illegitimate. Accreditation is a multi-layered process involving various accrediting organizations that can offer several different types of accreditation including regional, national, and specialized accreditation. To complicate matters, even accrediting institutions must be accredited by the United States Department of Education.
2. Can I earn college credit for Nouveau Riche training courses? YES. Many colleges and universities have developed policies and procedures for awarding credit for learning that is attained outside the traditional college classroom. The American Council on Education (ACE) has established through an intensive review process that a number of the Nouveau Riche University real estate investment courses are college-level instruction. As a result, ACE has recommended credit for 7 different investment strategies (curriculum paths) offered by Nouveau Riche University. Successful completion of an investment strategy or curriculum path results in a recommendation for one hour of college credit in the Associates Degree category for Real Estate or Business Administration.
3. What's the difference between Nouveau Riche University tuition credits and the ACE college credit recommendations?

6. What is ACE and what is its role in the review process?
The American Council on Education is the major national coordinating body for postsecondary education. ACE selects college faculty members to review and make credit recommendations for formal educational programs and courses offered by organizations such as the American Management Association, Delta Air Lines, McDonald's Corporation, and others. Its credit recommendations are intended to guide colleges and universities as they consider awarding such credit. ACE reviews all courses according to standardized policies and procedures and therefore has a consistent review process that is accepted by colleges and universities as non-partial and credible.
7. How can I locate Nouveau Riche on the ACE website?

In the 'National Guide Home' search box, type in Nouveau Riche. In the Search Criteria box, check only the 'Organization' box. Click 'Find'. The search results will return the titles of the 7 investment strategies. 8. How does ACE determine the number of credits to be awarded?
ACE bases the number of credits recommended for each course on factors such as learning outcomes, level of difficulty, length of course, student achievement or knowledge gained by satisfactory completion of the course, required readings and reports, and writings or performance demonstrations.
A team of subject-matter experts makes this recommendation when it has determined that a course is at the college level. The National Guide to College Credit for Workforce Training lists the recommended number and level of credits for each course at the end of each course exhibit.
9. Is college credit automatically earned when someone successfully completes a course listed in The National Guide?
NO. Successful completion of such a course results in actual college credit only when a postsecondary institution accepts the course toward a degree or certificate. Students who have already taken one of the courses listed in The National Guide, or who plan to take one, should contact the admissions office or their faculty advisers to determine the acceptability of the course for credit. The extent to which the content of the course is relevant to a student's academic program of study forms the basis for determining the number of credits that will be accepted.
These are credit recommendations. A college is not required to grant as much credit as recommended by the reviewers, nor is a college limited to granting only that amount of credit.
10. Are policies for granting credit the same at all colleges?
NO. Each college sets its own policies regarding the amount of off campus credit that may be earned, and these vary from institution to institution. While most colleges grant credit for a course conducted by a non-collegiate organization, some may not. It should be noted that sometimes a college does not grant credit, but it may instead waive a prerequisite course.
Each institution, and in many cases each academic department within the institution, sets its own policies for granting credit. The student should check with the college to determine the amount of credit that will be granted for such courses and the subject area in which the college will grant credit for these courses. A college may grant credit only provisionally at enrollment time and may withhold full credit until the student successfully completes one or more courses at the college. The college admissions office should be able to guide students to the appropriate official responsible for deciding credit recommendations.

12. What are the steps for requesting college credit for completed Nouveau Riche courses?
Step #1: Students will receive an email directly from ACE when ACE has received notification from Nouveau Riche that the student has successfully completed and passed the final assessment for all of the courses in the curriculum path that make up the ACE defined investment strategy that is recommended for credit.
NOTE: The 'Class History' in a student's Business Center/O.S.C.A.R.(TM) currently reflects class credit usage, class schedule dates, and a 'YES' or 'NO' course completion status. Students are encouraged to monitor their class history to ensure their course history logs completion of the course(s) for which they have been or currently are registered. In the near future, another column will be added to the class history and it will reflect the 'PASS' or 'FAIL' status from the student's final assessment in each class. Students must 'PASS' each course in the ACE investment strategy to achieve the 1 college credit recommendation for that strategy. Final assessments must be taken in the classroom setting and cannot be made-up through any other medium .
Step #2: Students should follow the instructions in the ACE email to access their personal record on the ACE website. Instructions on the site will inform students of how to request a transcript and identify where they would like their transcript sent. The initial transcript setup fee is $40.00 and includes issuance of the student's first transcript. After that, each request for transcript costs $15.00.
When requesting the transcript, students will be prompted to enter two things to identify themselves: (1) the "Student Identifier" is the student's Nouveau Riche identification/password (ex: US1234567), and (2) the student's "Last Name" as it appears in the Business Center/O.S.C.A.R.(TM) An official transcript confirming that the student has successfully completed the courses will then be sent to the academic institution(s) the student chose.
Step #3: Students must inform their college or university adviser that they have completed the course(s) and would like to have the ACE-recommended credits applied to their degree program. Call or write the college registrar and ask if the course transcript has been received and is in your file. Talk with your college or university adviser to find out whether the ACE-recommended credits will be transferred to your program of study.
If the student's adviser is not familiar with the ACE credit recommendations for training, have them refer to the National Guide to College Credit for Workplace Training Https://www.acenet.edu/nationalguide . The National Guide is a no-cost online resource listing credit recommendations and course descriptions for ACE-reviewed training.
13. What about my Partner? Will they get a transcript?
YES. Each Nouveau Riche University student maintains a unique identification within the system and for transcript purposes on the courses they’ve successfully completed. 14. What should be done if the credit recommendations are not accepted by my college?
Lack of familiarity with the American Council on Education or the ACE College Credit Recommendation and Transcript Service may be the reason for a college's refusal to accept records or credit recommendations. A phone call or letter from the appropriate ACE program office to the college may alleviate that problem. The Call Center for the ACE College Credit Recommendation Service Office in the Center for Lifelong Learning is 866-205-6267 or 866-641-2099.
